In honor of my grandmother and her battle with Pancreatic Cancer, I've founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting those who have been affected by pancreatic cancer.
Mrs. Jackson to many. Sis. Jackson to others. The list of titles goes on and on. The one I was most proud to call you was Granny. I miss you dearly. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Seven years have passed and it feels like yesterday. I trusted God. I had faith. But God had other plans. You were the light in my world as well as in the lives of others. I learned so much from you in the short time we shared. You taught me the importance of having a relationship with God, the best fashion tips, and most importantly unforgettable recipes. You are the epitome of grace and I can only hope to be half the woman you are. Cancer took you from me but gave me something in return. Your fight inspired me to help others who are facing similar trials. As I sit here in the year 2024, without you by my side, I hope that you are at rest, free from the pain you once endured. Cancer is so limited and I recognize that my love for you will never fade. I thank God for you and I hope to make you proud. Continue to rest well my dearest Granny.
Love,
Brook
As a long-standing educator, my grandmother was dedicated to transforming the lives of the students she encountered. Seeing her dedication to education and due diligence within the community was a great source of inspiration. It'd be remiss of me to not transform my pain into a greater purpose.
It is my hope that the future of ending this horrific disease, in its many forms, will one day become possible. Through the development of this foundation I aim to support those in the fight against pancreatic cancer, one hope at a time.
